Suyaki.
Traditional full charred finishes. Dark, moody textured timber.

Thermally Modified Timber
Experience the timeless elegance of Suyaki, the traditional Shou Sugi Ban finish that highlights the raw beauty of fully charred timber. With its 100% UV-proof char layer, Suyaki not only repels water but also slows down photodegradation, delivering a low-maintenance option that’s as practical as it is striking.

Every Suyaki piece is charred to 1060°C, creating a deep, rich black finish that radiates sophistication. Immediately cooled and coated with the first layer of oil in our factory, this process locks in the char, preventing residue and extending the life of its beautiful surface.

Over decades, Suyaki naturally transforms, revealing subtle grains beneath as it matures. With just a reapplication of oil every 5-7 years, you can prolong its durability, allowing the charred finish to gracefully transition into a refined Gendai look. Embrace the journey of Suyaki—where tradition meets enduring beauty, and each year only adds to its unique character.

Gendai.
Charred and smooth brushed. Enhanced grain , intriguing embossed patterns.

Thermally Modified Timber - Char free
Discover the allure of Gendai—our most popular charred timber finish that reveals the wood grain’s natural beauty with a smooth, refined texture and a subtle embossed pattern from the original char.

Charred and Brushed: Embrace the understated elegance of Gendai, where textural beauty meets modern sophistication. This finish combines the depth and character of charred timber with a sleek, hardwearing brushed surface, making it ideal for contemporary designs.

Crafted by deep charring and expertly brushing with a high-speed quad head, Gendai is then coated in our factory with a dark or black oil stain, enhancing both its lifespan and its exquisite grain. With the UV-protective char layer removed, reapply the stain every 3-5 years to maintain its rich, ebony black finish, or let it age naturally, transforming gracefully over time.

Pika Pika.
Charred 2x brushed. Highly textural, light colours

TMT Pine
Charred and Double Brushed:
Transform your space with Pika Pika, a finish that redefines traditional charred timber with a fresh, modern edge. Our double-brushing process enhances the natural grain clarity, delivering a refined texture that adds sophistication and character to any setting.

Pika Pika’s unique texture and high-contrast finish are achieved through an intense single burn followed by two specialized brushes. This process not only accentuates the wood’s natural beauty but also primes it to absorb colored oil stains beautifully, offering endless possibilities for customization.

The second, specialized brushing head brings out the timber's intricate textures, cleans away residual char, and highlights the wood’s original color. With some boards, the winter grain retains its bold black ridges, creating a stunning contrast that makes Pika Pika both dynamic and timeless.
